Privacy notice - policy development records for meat hygiene

Information on the privacy policy relating to policy development records for meat hygiene, why we require data, what we do with the data and your rights.

The Food Standards Agency will be what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data provided to us.

Purpose and lawful basis for processing

We need to collect this information for the purpose of processing of personal data on the occasion of FSA consultations and received enquiries, briefings or statements, and information in the context of FSA procurement procedures and the management of contracts, projects and reference material. 

We do this in line with the performance of our statutory duties to comply with our legal obligation to do so in accordance with Regulation (EC) 178/2002 (and as retained in UK legislation), with FSA approach to consultation, with HM Government Consultation Principles and in line with UK Government procurement policy requirements.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to carry out these functions, and in line with our retention policy. This means that this information will be retained for 7 years from receipt and then a decision on what to keep permanently is made.
