Last updated: 26 June 2018

Background

This survey was carried out to establish the concentrations of 15 metals in a representative range of commercial infant foods and formulae. The survey was designed to assess the risk to infant and young children’s health from dietary exposure to these elements.

Results

All the samples tested were compliant with food safety legislation. There were no maximum limits for inorganic arsenic in force when the samples were collected in 2013 and 2014.
