Asda recalls ASDA Chicken Dinners because of undeclared allergens

Asda is recalling ASDA Chicken Dinners because the product contains barley (gluten), egg and milk, which are not mentioned on the label. As a result of a packaging error, some packs contain ASDA Beef Dinners. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to barley or gluten and/or egg and/or milk or milk constituents.

This product contains barley (gluten), egg and milk making it a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to barley or gluten and/or egg and/or milk or milk constituents.

Action taken by the company

Asda is recalling the above product from customers. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. Please see attached notice.

Our advice to consumers

If you have bought the above product and have with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to barley or gluten and/or egg and/or milk or milk constituents. , do not eat it. Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold. Then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product).
