Action 2 - Local Authority Performance Update (FSA 24/09/04)

Local authority team to provide a note on PHAs and to ensure that information around PHAs be incorporated into future Board updates.

Kevin Maher to provide more granular data on slaughterhouse performance.

Kevin Maher – Ongoing Animal Welfare team developing a data pack covering wider spectrum of issues (non-compliances) between slaughterhouses that are small, medium, and large; and species processed so that the board could consider if it is viable data for future annual animal welfare Board papers.

 

Work is ongoing and data to be supplied to Board Sec by end of November 2024.

Action 4 –

Foodborne Disease Policy Overview (FSA 24/03/06)

 

CSA and Rebecca Sudworth to provide a paper on foodborne disease threshold levels to also include data relating to the devolved nations and provide the Board with information on FSA access to data from businesses and food contamination from chemical toxins.

In Progress – Data relating to the devolved nations and FSA access to testing data from businesses to be covered within Foodborne Disease Thresholds paper for Board Meeting on 26 March 2025 previously planned for December 2024 but delayed to allow key data to be analysed and options developed.  A separate Board briefing will be provided on food contamination and chemical toxins.

 

Action 2 - Chief Executive’s Report to the Board (FSA 24/06/03)

Anjali Juneja to bring a paper giving an update on the issues raised in relation to BTOM to a future Board meeting.
