Exporting feed which would not be permitted to be placed on the market in the UK
Feed which is not compliant with the legislation of Great Britain (GB) or Northern Ireland (NI) may be exported if certain requirements are met.
Export is permitted if:
- it complies with the legislation of the destination country
or
- the feed is safe and is expressly permitted by the competent authority of the destination country
Feed Business Operators should retain traceability information and evidence that products being exported, can legally be placed on the market in the destination country.
Should exporters wish to pre-notify Local Authority regulators of exports they can do this by contacting them directly.
Contact details for Local Authorities responsible for ports can be found by entering the postcode of the GB port of departure in the Find Your Local Trading Standards Office section of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) website.
