Julie Pierce to provide a note to the Board on selected Science Council Projects once Terms of Reference are scoped. |
March 2025 |
Julie Pierce - Closed The FSA undertook 2 research projects to determine the cost/impact of food crime and then the NFCU:
Then SERD and NFCU considered options for further developing the research to fine tune the current estimated cost range of food crime. However, we agreed that this should not be prioritised because for it to be meaningful the research would need some more examples of food crime cases that have concluded. We review this every year as we have a broader range of food crime criminals convicted and sentenced to enhance the further research, but it does not score sufficiently highly to be taken forward at this time.
