Working with industry against food crime
Food crime involves dishonesty at any stage in the production or supply of food, drink or animal feed. It is often complex and can be seriously harmful to consumers, businesses and the general public.
The NFCU has published a guide which explains our role in fighting food crime, how we can support industry, and how industry can support us.
It is hopefully the first step in building meaningful two-way dialogue between the NFCU and the food drink and feed industry. We are confident that this relationship will grow and mature to enhance the UK’s resilience and response to food crime in its many forms.
We have produced guidance on how we can work together to tackle the threat of food crime, which you can download and share.
We have created five posters promoting our Food Crime Confidential reporting facility. These are available for you to download, print and display in your place of work or elsewhere. Please share this widely to help us tackle the threat of food crime.
