Impact Assessments
An Impact Assessment (IA) is a policy tool to assess impacts of options considered, including the expected costs and benefits, and summarises the rationale for Government intervention.
Understanding the impact of proposed changes to our regulatory approach is fundamental to good policy making. Impact Assessments (IAs) are developed using stakeholder evidence, and are therefore normally first published on our website under consultation.
Once the evidence gathering stage is over, a Final Stage IA is produced and published on our website.
