Colin completed an Honours and Master’s Degree at Queen’s University, Belfast and is a qualified social worker spending his professional career in family and child care. His current post is as Policy and Public Affairs Manager with NSPCC Northern Ireland with responsibility for NI policy development and policy research. 

Colin represents the charity on the Board of Public Protection Arrangements Northern Ireland (PPANI) and the South Eastern Trust Child Protection Committee. He has been a Board Member of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) NI’s Health and Social Care Regulator from Jan 2005 to April 2013.

Colin is Vice Chair of the Northern Ireland Association of Social Workers (NIASW) and represents ni members on the council of the British Association of Social Work (BASW).
