The appointments of Chris Brereton, Georgia Taylor, Helen Taylor and Dr John Williams to the Committee have been made by Eluned Morgan, Minister for Mental Health, Well-being and Welsh Language in the Welsh Government, for a period of three years from 1 April 2021.

This Advisory Committee is chaired by Peter Price, the FSA Board member for Wales, who is appointed by the UK Government and the Welsh Government jointly. The Committee comprises independent experts who are selected for their experience and practical knowledge of areas such as food industry, agriculture, food-related science, enforcement and consumer interests.

Peter Price said: ‘I am delighted that these appointments have been made. These four members will be a great asset to the Committee, broadening its expertise in a number of areas. The new members bring a wealth of experience in food standards and safety or related fields, including environmental public health, general public health, working with healthcare professionals; leading technical teams in food, drink and packaging supply chains across the UK, and delivering legal expertise in food law and advertising. All will better enable the Committee to provide advice to the FSA Board and the Agency’s Executive teams on food matters relating to Wales’.

More information about the work of the Committee and biographies for the new members can be found on the Welsh Food Advisory Committee pages
