The public will wish to be aware that Ryans Foods Limited has produced food in unapproved premises under unsatisfactory hygiene conditions.

- Ayshas’ Bite Size Chicken Pakora
- Aysha’s 5 Bite Size Chicken Samosas
- Aysha’s 5 Bite Size Vegetable Samosas
- Aysha’s Chicken Tikka
- Ryans Chinese Lemon Chicken
- Rico’s Pizza's – all varieties
The products have been packaged with a modified atmosphere and have been given a durability date of up to 15 days.
Glasgow City Council instigated a recall of the products at all identified outlets within the City area and continues to monitor the ongoing operation. Despite inquiries by officers in Glasgow City, it has not been possible to obtain full distribution details or product traceability records. Distribution is believed to be restricted to the Glasgow area although products have been confirmed outwith this area.
The products appear to be distributed to newsagents and small independent convenience stores.
Advice to consumers:
If you have purchased any of the above products, please do not consume.
Actions to be taken by Enforcement Authorities:
As these products were manufactured in an unapproved premises, they do not comply with the requirements of Regulation EC 852/2004 (or Regulation EC 853/2004) and the Food Hygiene (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
If any of these products are found during routine inspections, enforcement officers should ensure that they are withdrawn from sale and destroyed, if necessary using powers under the Food Safety Act 1990 and Regulation 27 of the Food Hygiene (Scotland) Regulations 2006. In the event of local authorities finding significant quantities of this product, they are requested to inform the Agency immediately and provide details of the consignment.
