Scottish Food Advisory Committee (SFAC)
The Scottish Food Advisory Committee was set up to give advice to the Food Standards Agency on food safety and standards issues affecting Scotland.
The Committee is committed to acting in an open and transparent way. It can publish its advice as well as making it available to the Agency through its Scottish arm in Aberdeen. It will regularly meet in public.

This, combined with their wide range of backgrounds, will ensure that a broad range of perspectives are taken into account, ensuring the production of thorough and well-considered advice on the future direction of food safety in Scotland.
Scottish Food Advisory Committee Appointment of Members
The Food Standards Agency wishes to appoint three new members to the Committee in 2011/12. The role involves a time commitment of 2/3 days per month, including committee meetings and attracts a remuneration of £5,319 per year (non-pensionable). Appointments are for a two-year term and are made by Scottish Ministers.
