Some packs with a Best Before Code of 22/01/2013 contain wheat, which is not mentioned on the product label, resulting in incorrect allergen labelling. The affected product with this code has only been distributed to Tesco. Anyone with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten who has purchased this product in Tesco with this Best Before Code should not consume the product.

Action taken by the company
Weetabix Ltd is withdrawing the affected batch from sale in Tesco stores. Customers with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten have been advised not to eat this product and have been asked to contact the company for further advice on how to return this product. A copy of the customer notice issued by Weetabix is attached to this alert. In addition, the company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations who will inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal.
No other Weetabix products are known to be affected.
Advice to consumers
Customers who are allergic or intolerant to wheat or gluten are advised not to consume this product.
Customers who have purchased the affected batch should return it to the Consumer Service Department (details attached) for a full refund.
