A limited quantity of Village Bakery Melmerby Organic Gluten, Wheat and Dairy free Christmas puddings have been incorrectly placed in Organic, Gluten, Wheat and Dairy free Christmas Cake packaging. The pudding product contains nuts which are not declared on the Christmas cake label. This makes this product a potential health risk for people with a nut allergy.

Action taken by the company
The company has recalled all the affected stock from sale and will be contacting the relevant allergy support organisations which will inform their at-risk members of the recall. Notices are being displayed in all stores to alert consumers to the reasons for the recall, and the actions they can take if they have purchased the product.
No other Bells of Lazonby Ltd / The Village Bakery Melmerby products are known to be affected.
Advice to consumers
Customers with a nut allergy are advised not eat the product.
