FSA e-News published online
Tuesday 29 June 2010
The June issue of FSA e-News, the Agency’s monthly newsletter, has been published and is available online. This food safety special highlights the work the Agency is doing to tackle foodborne disease through its strategy to reduce campylobacter and with guidance to help farmers keep fresh produce safe.
In this edition you can find out more about how the Agency deals with food incidents and how it issues information to consumers about product withdrawals and recalls. You can read about how the Agency is helping to reduce food incidents, protect consumers and support the farming community, by requesting that the European Commission legalises the production of smoked 'skin-on' sheep carcasses (also known as ‘smokies’).
We also take a look at the good work that’s been going on in the nations to tackle food safety during Food Safety Week and we celebrate the success of the newly crowned ‘Food Champions’.
