Morrisons recalls some ready-to-eat chicken
Thursday 31 December 2009
Morrisons supermarket is recalling its own brand Ready to Eat Chilled Sweet Chilli Chicken Pieces (120g) after becoming aware that some packs may contain chicken that has been undercooked. The affected product has a use-by date of 2 January 2010.
Morrisons has withdrawn the product from sale and is putting up point-of-sale notices telling any customers who may have bought the chicken not to eat it and to contact their customer service for advice. No other Morrisons product is known to be affected.
Chicken that is not cooked thoroughly may cause food poisoning.
The product is produced in the Irish Republic and the Agency is working with the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) to determine if the chicken pieces have been distributed to other shops and supermarkets. The Agency is only aware of this product being produced for Morrisons.
