Prime Brand recalls whole straw mushrooms due to blown cans

Prime Brand has recalled a batch of canned Prime Brand Whole Straw Mushrooms due to the presence of anaerobic spore forming bacteria that have led to blown cans. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

The product being recalled is:
- Prime Brand Whole Straw Mushrooms (Unpeeled), 425g
- Batch code: 20080428 854 M
3502/01009 - Best before: 28 April 2011
No other Prime Brand products are affected by this recall.
Action taken by the company
Prime Brand has recalled the affected product from sale. Product recall notices will be displayed in shops to explain why the product has been recalled. Customers are advised not to eat the product and to call the company on freeephone 0808 1683044 if they have any questions. Anyone who has bought the product can return it for a full refund. In addition, Prime Brand will be placing an advert about the recall in SingTao daily Chinese newspaper on 27 and 29 November 2008.
