Young's recalls its King Prawn Mediterranean Skewers
Monday 19 November 2007
Young's has recalled a batch of its King Prawn Mediterranean Skewers (200g) because the use-by date appears as 17 December 07 and not 17 November 07. The product is only sold through Waitrose supermarkets. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.
Waitrose has removed the affected product from shelves and displayed point-of-sale notices in all stores. The notice tells the public the reason for the recall and advises consumers not to eat the product after 17 November 2007 but to return it to the store for a full refund.

Food Alerts
If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' (taken off the shelves) or 'recalled' (when customers are asked to return the product). Food alerts are the FSA's way of letting local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, providing details of specific action to be taken. They are issued under two categories:
- Food Alerts: for Action
- Food Alerts: for Information
You can get FSA alerts either by email or SMS text. Visit the Get Alerts page at the link below to find out how.
