Marks & Spencer recalls sweet and sour chicken
Thursday 8 February 2007
Marks & Spencer has recalled a batch of its own brand Sweet and Sour Chicken 300g meal, due to a packaging error resulting in incorrect labelling information. The Food Standards Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.
Some packs may contain crispy prawns, but the packaging does not display the correct labelling information and allergy advisory statement, which makes this product unsafe for people who are allergic to shellfish.

Marks & Spencer has been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK, which will inform all members who are allergic to shellfish of the recall.
Food alerts
Food alerts are the FSA's way of letting local authorities and consumers know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, providing details of specific action to be taken. They are issued under two categories:
- Food Alerts: for Action
- Food Alerts: for Information
