Mohammed Sabuz Patwary, chef at the Bombay Palace, High Wycombe, has won the East and Northern Home Counties regional final of the National Curry Chef Competition 2003. The competition is organised jointly by the Food Standards Agency and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).

Binu Raj, chef at the Cocum restaurant, Raynes Park, Merton, has beaten off stiff competition to win the title CIEH–FSA London Curry Chef 2003 at the regional final held in London.
Midlands
Zunu Miah, chef at the Al Madina restaurant, Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, has scooped the title of CIEH–FSA Midlands Curry Chef 2003 at the regional final held in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
North
Mohammed Sultan of The Masala Restaurant, Middlesbrough, has beaten off stiff competition to scoop the title North Curry Chef 2003, at the regional final held in Sunderland. The competition is organised jointly by the Food Standards Agency and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
North West
Farooq Ahmed, of the Veenas Restaurant in Rochdale, has scooped the title of CIEH–FSA North-West Curry Chef 2003 at the north-west regional heat of the national Curry Chef Competition. South East
