Subject: The purpose of this review was to assess the availability and quality of centrally produced nutrition education resources; from all of the countries of the United Kingdom. A first survey was carried out in 2001; and this covered healthy eating and fruit and vegetable resources. A further survey was carried out in 2002; which additionally included resources on folic acid; weaning and nutrition for pre-school children. The results of these surveys should help to identify where there is either duplication or gaps in resource provision.  Resources covered healthy eating; promoting fruit and vegetable consumption; communicating the peri-conceptual folic acid message; weaning; and nutrition for pre school children. This survey focused more on printed resources; since these are most relevant to the Food Standard Agency's and Department of Health's portfolios. Generally speaking there are many good quality resources available; at a reasonable cost.
