The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006
Thursday 19 February 2009
The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/14) came into force on 11 January 2006.
These gave effect to the provisions of the new EU legislation and the implementing and transitional measures (including the EU Microbiological Criteria Regulation) which were published at the end of 2005 – too soon to be included in the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2005 (SI 2005/2059), which were in force only from 1 January 2006 until 10 January 2006 and which were revoked by the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006.
The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 have since been amended by the Food Hygiene (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2007 (SI 2007/56), which applied some further EU implementing and transitional legislation. Further amending SIs are due to follow during 2009.
The Official Feed and Food Controls (England) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/15) also applied from 11 January 2006. These regulations apply the EU Official Feed and Food Controls Regulation (OFFC) in England.
Copies of all the SIs or equivalents concerned can be found via the OPSI website (see link below). Simply enter the SI number or the title of the Regulations in full to the OPSI website search engine.
