Approval process for processing 30-48 month bovines
Tuesday 20 January 2009
This letter to the industry provides details of arrangements in place following the recent change to BSE testing age to 48 months in relation to those abattoirs that wish to process 30-48 month bovines that no longer require testing.
These abattoirs are required to have an approved Required Methods of Operation (RMOP) to ensure that over thirty month carcases are identified and directed to authorised cutting plants for the vertebral column specified risk material to be removed.
