20 - 24 September 2004
Executive Summary
The Authority was carrying out a number of its duties in a comprehensive manner, including sampling of food, the inspection of Approved Premises and the implementation of the Home Authority Principle at food standards premises. The Authority also demonstrated a commitment to the training of officers and to promotional activity.
The Authority had authorised officers to carry out food hygiene enforcement work who were not appropriately qualified. Inspections were not being carried out at the minimum frequencies required by Food Safety Act Codes of Practice and there was little evidence of feedingstuffs enforcement.
