The Authority's routine food hygiene inspections produced detailed and comprehensive records allowing an effective assessment of appropriate enforcement activities. The major investigations into illegal slaughter also demonstrated the Authority's ability to carry out effective enforcement under difficult circumstances.

However, deficiencies in the records relating to food standards inspections and in the use of Improvement Notices, demonstrate that that the Authority still has a significant amount of work to undertake to ensure full compliance with The Standard.
