The Authority’s Strengths
Equipment - The Authority has made available all necessary equipment to permit all activities associated with the Service to be carried out.
Food Premises Database - A check on the accuracy of the database showed that 10 out of 10 businesses randomly selected had been entered on to the database.
Premises records were comprehensive.
Food Safety Promotion - The Authority are implementing food safety promotional activities.
Control and Investigation of Outbreaks and Food Related Infectious Diseases - Recent outbreaks have been investigated in conjunction with the Authority's procedures.
Service Plan - The Authority has produced a Food Service Plan, which generally meets the requirements of The Standard.
Follow-Up Action to Year 1 Non-Conformances - These have been completed within the specified timescale and the audit file has been formally closed.
Key Areas for Improvement
Food Standards Inspections - Apart from manufacturers, not all premises are risk rated in terms of the Food Safety Act 1990 Code of Practice No .8: Food Standards Inspections.
Facilities and Equipment - The procedure requires to be reviewed to reflect equipment currently in use.
