Focused audits
The FSA has undertaken a number of focused audit programmes on a particular aspect of enforcement work in a selection of local authorities.
In each programme the authorities were selected to represent a cross-section of local authority types and geographical location.
Where appropriate, a summary report may be produced and published in addition to individual local authority reports.

Audit of food law enforcement controls of imported food not of animal origin
The Food Standards Agency has carried out a programme of focused audits of local authorities and port health authorities, which looked specifically at their arrangements for controls on imported food (and, where relevant, imported feed).
Audit of imported feed control arrangements at ports and inland authorities
These audits examined port health authority and local authority systems and procedures for control of imported feed and, where relevant, inland imported feed at ports of entry (sea and air) and at inland authorities in ten geographically representative authorities in Great Britain.

These audits were planned to assess the effectiveness of local authority systems for approval of dairy establishments and the effectiveness of routine official controls in approved dairy establishments, with particular focus on establishments involved in handling and processing down-grade and/or mould contaminated cheese.
