North Kesteven District Council
Monday 10 May 2004
11 - 12 February 2004
Executive summary
The Authority was operating a comprehensive and very effective programme of internal monitoring of both quantitative and qualitative aspects of their food law enforcement activity. The monitoring formed an integral part of the Authority's quality management system, which, in turn, provided an effective framework for ensuring that action was taken to address any issues raised. The effectiveness of the monitoring was evident in file checks carried out during the audit, where comprehensive records provided clear evidence of a consistently high level of performance by all members of staff.
The Authority was also actively participating in a number of external audit initiatives. As with the internal monitoring, all issues raised by these external reviews were routinely addressed through the quality management system with a view to securing continual improvement.
