Executive summary
The Authority had still to develop all of the procedures required by the Standard which would enable effective monitoring to take place.
The Authority had not fully developed effective internal monitoring arrangements for the qualitative aspects of its food and feeding stuffs law enforcement service. This was reflected in the problems found across some areas of the Service which would have been identified and addressed by effective internal monitoring.
The Authority�s monitoring of key performance indicators as outlined in its Food Safety Service Plan was generally adequate but could be further developed to give a more structured approach to quantitative monitoring.
The Authority had participated in a London wide inter authority audit scheme sponsored by the Agency in 2000.
