The Authority's Strengths

Allerdale Borough Council was able to demonstrate an effective food law enforcement service and a high standard of performance in most of its activities. The Authority was particularly strong on activities relating to control and investigation of outbreaks and food related infectious disease.

Investigations of Outbreaks and Food Related Infectious Disease - Comprehensive procedures on outbreaks and food related infectious disease were being implemented. Wide ranging guidance on food poisoning and food borne diseases was available for members of the public and a detailed officer handbook had been proactively developed.
