Brighton and Hove City Council
Wednesday 30 July 2003
25 November 2002
Executive Summary
The authority was able to demonstrate that it was carrying out appropriate targeted sampling activity, relevant to the nature and scope of the City's food premises profile. The Authority had established effective liaison arrangements with neighbouring authorities and the laboratory services, and participated fully in regional and national sampling surveys.
The authority was adhering to its food hygiene sampling policy and was implementing its food hygiene and food standards sampling programmes for 2002/2003. Effective follow up action was being taken in response to unsatisfactory sample results. This included using sample results as supporting evidence for formal enforcement actions, when appropriate and in accordance with the Authority's Enforcement Policy.
