Although E. coli may be non-pathogenic, it is an indicator of faecal contamination and may present a possible risk to health and is in breach of the Natural Mineral Water, Spring Water and Bottled Drinking Water Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007.

Action taken by the Company:
As a precautionary measure, the distributor, Lynas Food Service Ltd, Coleraine, Northern Ireland is recalling one batch of Spring Hill Pure Spring Water due to the presence of E. coli (1 cfu/250 ml). Retailers and caterers have been requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display a point-of-sale notice informing customers of the recall. No action is required by official agencies.
