The above product potentially contains pieces of grit that became embedded within the sweet potato during harvesting. The pieces of grit are very small and not considered to be harmful.

Action taken by the company:
The company has recalled the affected product from consumers and issued a press release that will appear in the national press on 22/12/10. Point-of-sale notices have also been issued explaining to customers the reason for recall and the actions they can take if they have bought the affected product. A copy of the product recall notice issued by McCain is attached to this notice.
No other McCain Foods (GB) Ltd products are known to be affected.
Advice to consumers:
If you have purchased McCain Sweet Potato with Rosemary and Garlic (400g) with any of the above lot numbers, do not consume the product. For refund or replacement information please refer to the attached recall notice.
